Mike Derzko

At Sparkfund, Mike is responsible for building relationships with organizations that prefer to focus their capital and time on their core missions rather than on the equipment in their buildings. He helps customers obtain the financial and sustainability benefits of optimized management of building technologies without the hassle and cost of doing it themselves. He was previously a Vice President at Northwater Capital, where he developed the firm’s energy and environmental investment strategy and was responsible for managing approximately $1 billion in hedge fund investments. He also served as a policy advisor in the United States Senate, advising on economic, energy, and environmental issues. Mike holds a BS in Economics and Physics from the University of Toronto and an MS in Environmental Sciences and Policy from Johns Hopkins University.
