Eric Coffman
Chief of the Office of Energy and Sustainability
Eric Coffman leads the Office of Energy and Sustainability within the Montgomery County Department of General Services. OES is responsible for coordinating and implementing efforts across County government to reduce the impact of County operations on the environment. Areas of focus include energy and climate; waste reduction; transportation; green buildings; resiliency; water; biodiversity; green purchasing and communicating County successes. Eric joined DGS to establish OES after eight years with the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection. While with DEP, Eric was responsible for overseeing a wide array of energy and greenhouse gas reduction programs. His broader background includes private and public sector experience with energy, water, forest conservation, environmental health and safety, outreach, communications, energy financing, and other activities. Eric is a Certified Public Manager, Certified Energy Manager, Certified Energy Procurement Professional and a United States Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional.
