State Senator Jennifer McClellan
Jennifer McClellan was elected to the Senate of Virginia in 2017. She serves on the Senate Agriculture, Conservation, and Natural Resources, Local Government, and Transportation Committees. She is the Chair of the Virginia Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Commission and Co-Chair of the Capital Region Caucus. She is a member of the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus, the Women's Health Care Caucus, and the Legislative Advisory Council of the Southern Regional Education Board. Prior to being elected to the Senate, Jennifer served in the Virginia House of Delegates for 11 years, where she was a member of the House Education, Commerce & Labor, and Courts of Justice Committees, the Virginia Crime Commission, and the Ethics Advisory Council.
Jennifer serves on a wide variety of community, non-profit, and health care provider boards and has been given numerous awards and honors for her public service, a full list of which can be found on her website at . Jennifer was born in Petersburg, Virginia. She received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond and a law degree from the University of Virginia. She lives in Richmond, VA with her husband, David and two children.
